Ben Young is a lighting designer based in Auckland, New Zealand, currently in high school and working on lighting for school and community theatre productions.
He's interested in how light shapes a scene, colour, angle, timing, and how much can be said without a word of dialogue. That interest has led to work on stage productions as well as independent lighting concepts, built and shared outside of any formal production.
Alongside that, Ben shares lighting concepts for songs and musicals on TikTok as a way to keep experimenting and get feedback from others interested in the craft.
